I am currently in New York which I absolutely love. New York is a great place for music and art and one of my favorite activities is photographing street art with my trusty Leica camera. On this trip I have been trying out a new 40mm lens which is great for this kind of work. Its also an opportunity to visit many excellent stores like Matt Umanov where I have to date bought a number of fine instruments including by first ukulele a pre production Collings UC1 and then in recent years a very rare James Triggs tenor. Both of these are keepers in the growing ukulele collection!
New is literally a 24/7 city and you either love it or hate it. Personally 5 days in NY is for me a wonderful creative boost and I often find myself writing a lot for the band while here. Also with current technology keeping in touch with everyone is really easy. I’ll be back again in 8 weeks for some more sound and vision explorations, can’t wait!
