Martin Simpson meets “Guitar Zilla”the Pogreba baritone guitar

I was first introduced to Larry Pogreaba’s guitars by Martin Simpson and already owen two of them. These are very different to anything else I have played and I really love them. I’m always on the look out for items and recently found a Pogreba baritone for sale online in New Jersey. I rarely by any instrument without trying it, but I realized this would be a rare opportunity, so I nabbed it.

I call this new instrument GUITAR ZILLA as its HUGE! The only case I could find was an acoustic bass case, nothing else would fit. I’ve shown this to both Jon Gomm and Martin Simpson and they both love it. Its not like anything else in both looks, feel and sound. Below is a clip of Martin playing it in one of our one to one sessions. As usual Martin sounds amazing and brings out the best in the instrument.
