“Sweet Songs & Bitter Truth”

We are halfway through recording “Sweet Songs & Bitter Truth” an album due to be released in 2026. This material was originally planned to be two EPs as the tracks fall into two distinct and different catagories. The first set are a series of protest songs including “The world’s richest man” and “We are the many” The second group are a very different set of tracks that will include some covers as well as originals. These are “the sweet songs” as opposed to the protest or “bitter truth” material. The album title brings together these two different dimensions which will be side A and side B of the vinyl release.

I’m super excited by the quartet on these tracks, Agi on vocals, Harry Orme on guitar and Liz Hanks on cello. I of course will be taking up main vocal duties. Liz is an outstanding artist and we are truly grateful for her brilliant additions. The cello adds a very different sonic element to these tracks and creates a unique sound, The Heartache will be playing these tracks live at The Old Wollen in May 2026, with Claire Helm on vocals alongside Harry Orme and Evan Davies. Carl Rosamond will as always be producing this project.
