This material was originally planned as two EPs, as the tracks fall into two distinct categories. The first set is a series of protest songs, including “The world’s richest man” and “We are the many” The second group are a very different set of tracks that will include some covers as well as originals. These are “the sweet songs” as opposed to the protest or “bitter truth” material. Instead of EPs, I decided to create a mini album with six tracks.
The album title brings together these two dimensions, which will appear as sides A and B of the vinyl release. All songs are written by me, except “Pancho & Lefty” and “Say what you will” The project will also be available on CD and on all platforms.

I’m super excited by the quartet on these tracks, Agi on vocals, Harry Orme on guitar and Liz Hanks on cello. I of course will be taking up main vocal duties. Liz is an outstanding artist and we are truly grateful for her brilliant additions.
The cello adds a distinct sonic element to these tracks, creating a unique sound. The Heartache will be playing these tracks live at The Old Wollen in May 2026, with Claire Helm on vocals alongside Harry Orme and Andy Wright. Carl Rosamond will, as always, be producing this project. We’ll be playing music from this album on May 17th when we support Martin Simpson at The Old Woollen, tickets here
